Aldi has just launched £3 dupe mists of the viral Sol de Janeiro body perfumes

May 26, 2023

They're a direct aim at the viral Brazilian fragrance collection

When it comes to dupes, Aldi doesn't mess around. The supermarket is known for their successful doppelgangers of popular products, ranging from viral candles to body lotions. Now, they've released a copycat of the heavenly Sol de Janeiro body mists and they're only £3.

The Lacura Body Mists come in a variety of perfume smells such as Cuban Dreams (Jasmine & Dragon Fruit), Havana Nights (Pistachio & Salted Caramel), or Tropical Glow (Amber Plum & Vanilla). They're a direct aim at the viral Brazilian fragrance collection which built a cult following online after going popular on TikTok.

However, the Sol de Janeiro mists usually set you back around £22 per bottle. It's hard to imagine an affordable dupe that could compete, however Aldi seems to have all our problems solved with their new release.

The product description reads: "Gift yourself or a loved one a new signature scent with this Body Mist by Lacura. Perfect for having to hand whenever you're heading out, whether it's to the office or out with friends, this Lacura Body Mist is ideal."

Both collections look identical as they both have the same lightweight packaging. They're also similarly numbered just like the expensive counterpart, which is hardly a surprise from Aldi.

There are currently no reviews yet, so it's hard to tell if Aldi's collection is just as addictive as the originals. However, since the packaging is so alike loyalists probably won't even notice the difference. But this isn't the first time that Aldi has copied a Sol de Janeiro product.

Last month they released a dupe of the popular £42 Brazilian Bum Bum cream, which is universally loved by celebrities and beauty editors. The Lacura Booty Balm 250ml is a cheaper alternative and it only costs a fiver in Aldi.

The body cream also looks strikingly similar with the same orange and yellow packaging and has exactly the same ingredients such as coconut oil to achieve a smoother texture over time.
