Shark vacuum sale sees £100s off their anti

Oct 31, 2023

Shark are one of the most popular brands out there - and now they've got hundreds of pounds off

Shark have a huge sale on a number of their best-selling models, including anti-allergy, cordless and anti-wrap ones knocking hundreds off. None of them go below 4 star reviews, with thousands of people upvoting them.

There are multiple models on sale, but their most popular model, the Lift-Away Upright Vacuum Cleaner [NV602UKT] is down from £269.99 to a respectable £189 - which is just less than Argos, which sells them at £190. It's got a 4.6 stars out of 15,613 ratings, with the majority of good reviews around its versatility, ease to assemble and suction power. The defining feature of this model is the "Lift-Away" function, which can transform it from an upright to a portable.

They promise to capture and trap 99.9 per cent of dust and allergens, as well as coming with a pet tool to pick up any excess fur. For those lucky enough to have a big house, it also comes with an eight metre power cord, as well as LED headlights that can illuminate dust.

Out of the reviews, 76 per cent of them are five star, 15 per cent are four star, four per cent are three star, two per cent are two star and three per cent are one star. One happy customer of the vacuum cleaner said: "I used to have a wireless hoover but decided to try out Shark as I hadn’t used the brand before. I was surprised with the power of this Shark and how much it lifts compared to previous hoovers used. The suction is so powerful but does have suction control for anyone who might struggle pushing the hoover around on full suction. The lift away function is handy, as are the attachments. I purchased this Hoover in November 2021 and it is still providing the same excellent performance. Highly recommended."

Another added: "As I say, I bought this vacuum cleaner on the recommendation of Which? magazine and I wasn’t disappointed! Simple to assemble, powerful, light to use and very effective on carpets, floor tiles, wooden floors and stairs. There’s nothing it can’t cope with and is much much quieter than my previous vacuum cleaner. Also easy to empty. I’ve had it for a while now and I’m still very impressed with it."

On Which?'s review, they gave it a 78%, praising its allergen retention, hair and fibre removal and how quiet it is. They did note that it is only average on laminate floors. One negative review of the cleaner said: "Easy to put together and use! Lightweight and powerful BUT not very hardwearing. I look after my things but the materials it's made of are very easy to scratch and mark easily. I'm really not happy with that as it looks battered after 2 months."

Another added: "This hoover is absolutely brilliant for suction but is extremely hard to use. It is very heavy & hard to manoeuvre around. When using the hose it falls over easily as it's not very flexible, even when you remove it from main part. The lead isn't really long enough & I find I have to keep re-plugging it in to reach all of the next room. I wish I had spent the extra to get a cordless version. It would have been good if it came with a few more attachments."

The biggest discount and the one with the second highest amount of reviews is the NZ801UKT upright vacuum cleaner. From a recommended retail price of £349, it has a 43 per cent discount down to £199. This is cheaper than Argos, who are selling it for £250. Coming with a five year guarantee from Shark, this one boasts the ability to work as well on hard floors as carpets, using the DuoClean technology.

Like the other one, it has the Lift-Away function and the pet tool, as well as an 8 metre power cord. Out of 11,426 reviews, it's got a 4.7, with 83 per cent five star, 11 per cent four star, two per cent three star and two per cent one star. One happy reviewer said: "I love this Shark hoover. It cost more than I would normally pay, but the quality is great and it sounds like a quality hoover and cleans like one too.. So far! I love that you can use the tools on a short or long length and that the main part comes off to be hand held for the stairs. A bit heavier than a cordless but cleans better. I would recommend it to anyone."

However, one negative review said: "I have had better cleaners and I have had much worse. The suction is perfectly adequate if not particularly brilliant, although it does have a tendency to eat the power cable if you inadvertently run over it but ,I suppose, that is a problem with all suction cleaners. As other reviewers have mentioned, the much vaunted 'tangle free' beater brush isn't, isn't tangle free that is. Also, in line with other reviewers, I find the 'dust cup' is risibly minute, perhaps 'dust egg cup' would be a more apposite description. Still, all in all, it is what it is and until it fails entirely and has to be replaced it will stay on the front line."

In their review, Which? gives the model a 74 per cent. Their pros are it sucks up pet hair quickly, the anti-hair wrap works and the allergy filters work. It's negative is that it doesn't work as well on carpets or flat hard floors as well as other models.
